Tonights game is the first round of the playoffs between the Avalanche and the Rockies. This long time rivalry was brought to a new level the past few days with trash talking between both teams taking place.
Rockies forward Tom Ford had these things to say..."look out Steven Slugocki, Paul Ryan Hoffman,Brian Knapp,Nick Probst.......We are not going down easy!!!" and " The fact that steve has not responded means one of three things....his phone not working..or he is humbled for a change and not gona flap his gums....or he is still at the male revue from lunch time"
Avalanche Forward Steven Slugocki replied with, "Give me an hour to respond geez!! Dude we gotta win tomorrow night first. I would love to beat you guys (again) for our THIRD STRAIGHT title."
Members of other teams even jumped in when Ben Gowers added this, "Love how Tom is the one talking about someone else being humble. Pot, kettle, black. "
Rockies Forward Gary Henshaw seemed confident, "If you win, you can use my ice luge for your next party...we are playing for the "Luge Cup"...now it's on!"
And finally, Avalanche Forward Paul Hoffman added this final bet, "new bet, if we win, Steve and I get to design an "avs luge cup champions" shirt that you and Tom have to buy from Dave Evans (like $7) and wear to the first game next season, and vice versa if you guys win." To which Tom and Gary agreed.
It certainly seems that tonights battle will be one to remember!!!!
